OSUE Volunteer Selection Process
- Complete a volunteer application
- Receive, at the time of application or change of position, a written volunteer position description outlining responsibilities/scope of the volunteer’s efforts

- Read, agree to, and annually sign the volunteer standards of behavior [PDF
] - Have at least two positive references from non-relatives/close friends
- Complete a screening interview with an OSUE professional
- Submit to a criminal history fingerprint background check
- Participate in a new volunteer orientation session
- Annually participate in a volunteer training/update program
Applications are accepted in your local Ohio county Extension office up until January 31 of each year. Application materials must be completed by March 15 to become an active volunteer for that calendar year. Application are available through this link [PDF ]
