Become A Volunteer

Strengthening families, the community and the economy is the mission of Ohio State University Extension’s Family and Consumer Sciences program. Volunteers have the opportunity to ADVOCATE, PROMOTE and TEACH about successful Ohio State University Extension programs.

ADVOCATE – As an advocate, you will work with legislators and stakeholders to advocate for the support of Family and Consumer Sciences programs and to ensure that they are appropriately funded.

PROMOTE – As a promoter, you will be involved in public awareness campaigns, operate displays for health fairs and other educational events.

TEACH – As a teacher, you will help with established curriculum in the three Family and Consumer Science content areas: Healthy People, Healthy Finances, and Healthy Relationships.

The core programs include:

Dining with Diabetes Ohio Farm to School
Food Safety Education Successful Co-Parenting
Live Healthy Live Well Universal Design
Money Management
