Invitation to participate in OSU Research Study

Ohio State University Extension

Offer of Free Financial Coaching

Hello! We are researchers at The Ohio State University. We are looking for participants for a study about financial coaching for individuals who are diagnosed with a chronic brain injury. We are interested in learning about the financial hardship experienced as result of this injury and whether financial coaching can help improve financial hardship situations.

Participants must be 18 years of age or older and must be currently suffering from chronic brain injury.

Participation in this research study includes up to nine meeting with a financial coach free of charge. Each meeting will last about 30 to 45 minutes and they are spread over the course of one year. The coaching meetings will occur in-person and over the phone. Between the meetings the financial coach will follow-up in a short 5-minute phone call. Data collected include short surveys at the coaching meetings, your credit reports, and personal health information data, if a participant is still in treatment. All data will be confidential and stored securely.

If you are interested in learning more or participating, please contact our financial coaches per email ( or per phone (614-247-6337).

Please feel free to share this opportunity with family, friends, and neighbors in Ohio. If you have a guardian or have given a power of attorney (POA) to an individual to act on your behalf, we ask you to let us know in your response to this flyer. We would like to involve you and your legal representative in the financial coaching meetings.

Thank you!
