Zies Named Interim FCS Assistant Director

Susan ZiesSusan Zies, assistant professor and Extension educator in Wood County, will begin serving as interim assistant director for Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) on Feb. 2, 2026. She brings deep passion, steadfast dedication, and extensive experience in building community partnerships to this statewide leadership role.

Susan has spent more than 30 years with Ohio State University Extension, working in both urban and rural counties. Throughout her career, she has authored numerous journal articles and presented on FCS topics at national and international conferences in addition to her community outreach. She has also held a variety of leadership positions within OSU Extension, including county director, SNAP-Ed supervisor, EFNEP supervisor, and, most recently, a CFAES Faculty Advisory Council chair.

She will have offices at the Agricultural Admin building in Columbus, and the Wood County Extension office. She can be reached at zies.1@osu.edu.
