During the 89th annual National Extension Association of Family & Consumer Sciences (NEAFCS) conference, 29 Ohio State University Extension professionals were recognized with national and central region awards.
The Sept. 11-14 award ceremony held in Providence, Rhode Island, recognized members for outstanding service, educational curriculum, continued excellence, innovation in youth programming, communications television/video, teamwork, early childhood child care training.

The Educator of the Year Award recognizes a professional Extension FCS Educator who is conducting outstanding educational programs that demonstrate impact on families and who has continued professional development activities and involvement, Innovation in Programming, Communications Television/Video,
Marie Economos (Trumbull County) and Beth Stefura (Mahoning County)
Continued Excellence Award
The Continued Excellence Award recognizes active involvement in professional improvement programs, promotion of professional development, and leadership. They must have been a member for at least 12 years, attended 3 or more Annual Sessions and received the NEAFCS Distinguished Service Award prior to the year in which they achieve Continued Excellence, Marketing Package

1st Place, Educational Curriculum Package Award+C11

The Educational Curriculum Package Communications Award encourages excellence in a teaching package that utilizes communication tools from two or more categories: audio/visual, written, exhibit, slides, computer program or educational publication.

The Innovation in Youth Programming Award recognizes an innovative program that reaches a new youth audience or expands a current audience, a subject matter area, a new delivery method or another creative approach.

Communications Television/Video Award encourages excellence in communications in nine categories, including educational television and/or video programming.

The Excellence in Teamwork Award was established in 2018 to recognize outstanding Extension Family and Consumer Sciences programs conducted by a multi-disciplinary team.

The Early Childhood Child Care Training Award recognizes outstanding childcare professional training that addresses the needs of young children birth to eight years of age.
