Congratulations to Debbie Carpenter, Lawrence County EFNEP program assistant, on being selected as the 2019 Shirley Brooks-Jones Citizenship Award recipient. The award was created to recognize staff members in the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences who excel in providing outstanding and ongoing excellence in services to faculty, staff, students and/or others through communication, fairness, problem solving and contributions to positive change in the college.

In support of Debbie’s nomination, nominators wrote, “People have to know that you care before they care what you know has been Debbie’s mantra throughout her 26-year career working with limited resource families, community partners, and colleagues through Ohio State University (OSU) Extension. Following this mantra has allowed Debbie to provide ongoing excellence in service while also enhancing the lives of many OSU Extension customers and colleagues.”

In honor of this recognition, Debbie received a plaque and $500 cash award during a recent CFAES Award ceremony. Congratulations, Debbie!
